D’Arcy Wade, Year Eleven,  was awarded the 2012 Defence Technical Scholarship (DTS) from over 2300 applications from across Australia.

The DTS Program commenced in 2009 and provides a financial incentive to eligible Year Eleven and Twelve students to stay at school and finish their education whilst undertaking Maths and English and a trade or technical related subject, suitable to further study and training for a technical trade in the Australian Defence Force.

The DTS consists of an award of $2000 for Year Eleven and $3000 for Year Twelve students.

D’Arcy’s application included an essay about the Japanese Earthquake and Tsunami disaster of March 2011.  It described his role as an officer and the processes which they would go through to implement humanitarian aid and recovery.

D’Arcy’s dream for the future is to be an aviation pilot in the Australian Army.

Mrs Cathy Hockey, staff and students are very proud of D’Arcy’s achievements.
