A Message from the Head of Junior School Carbrook

Welcome to the Junior School of Calvary Christian College. On the Carbrook campus, the Junior School of approximately 350 students includes children from Kingdom Kids (our Child Care Centre) through to Year Six.

Being part of a broader community a child can begin at Prep and continue all the way through to Year Twelve on the one campus. This is appreciated by many families who have a number of children spanning Junior, Middle and Senior Schools. Because of the close location of the sub-schools children in the Junior School interact with older students as their paths cross during the day.

Whilst being part of a larger campus, the Junior School enjoys its own distinct environment. All of the younger students (Prep to Year Two) are located in an Early Learning Precinct adjacent to Kingdom Kids and the C&K. This provides children in Prep to Year Two with their own playgrounds and space to enjoy with others of a similar age. The older Junior School students enjoy the use of their own playground as well as specialised facilities such as sporting ovals, basketball courts, library, Performing Arts Centre and IT centre that come with being part of a P-12 environment.

Within the Junior School our upper primary students (Year Six) play an active leadership role. Each week, many of them volunteer their time to assist the younger children in lunch and playground activities. They can be found refereeing soccer matches on the Junior Oval; escorting younger ones to and from their play areas; helping out in the library and assisting in the Prep playground. All of these tasks they take on willingly out of a desire to serve and to lead.

I warmly invite you to come and experience our campus first hand by attending our next Principal’s Tour.
