Co-curricular Activities » Amnesty

The Amnesty International Student Group was formed in 1995 and continues to grow every year. Amnesty has set up different groups in which students may get involved; this includes the dance group, the music group, the letter writing group and the art group. All our efforts culminate in our annual Candle Day Service.

Students meet once a week at lunch break to respond to world-wide appeals, draw posters and banners and practise music and dance. At the end of Year Twelve, Certificates of Service are presented to the Year Twelve members of Amnesty International.

This group is an important ministry of the college as students are challenged about social responsibility in accordance with the scripture from:

Micah  6:8 (New International Version)
He has shown you, O mortal, what is good.  And what does the LORD require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy  and to walk humbly with your God.
