      Over the weekend our Year 7 Netball team competed with 84 other schools in Queensland in the Firebirds Mission Netball Cup.  Calvary was placed in a pool with 9 other schools and at the end of their round of games, they remained undefeated and at the top of thier pool ladder.  In their elimination finals match, they played Our Lady of the Rosary College.   • Stellar Performances!
      Congratulations to Jordan Koszo, Jacqueline O’Donnell, Luke Frost, Saadiya Fourie and Matthew Borja who gave stellar performaces at a concert last week as part of thier assessment for Music Extension.  They showcased their considerable talent through vocals, guitar, drums, piano and composition through many and varied pieces from J.S.Bach to Jimi Hendrix, Adele and original work.

      The Visual Art students enjoyed a week of demonstrations and workshops with our Artist in Residence, Christian Griffith from Aerograffix during ArtsFest last week. Their creative stencil canvas artworks were displayed in the Arts Fest Gallery and another amazing wall mural has been painted by Christian in the PATC building opposite the Senior Music Room.

  • 10 Year Celebration
      Gradutes from the class of 2011 had a fabuous time on Saturday night catching up with each other at their 10 year reunion.  Our Alumni were pleased to see some current staff as well as a visit from a past staff member.  We wish the many mums to be that were there, all the best over the next few months.

  • The Chargers are Grand Final Champions!
      Looks like Sam Stosur is not the only Grand Final champion celebrating this morning.  Our very own Calvary Chargers are netball grand final winners after a sweet 37 to 11 victory over Rochedale State High School team, Supa Troopers.  The Under 12 girls team played on Saturday at Underwood Park.  Well done to all of our netball teams who have done us proud.

      The College has been advised that there will be a Veolia Bus Strike on Thursday 1 September 2011. Families whose children usually use this bus service will be required to make alternative transportation arrangements for getting their children to and from school on that day.

      Calvary Show Team has two more students who have qualified for State Finals in Junior Judging! Tanisha McBratney gained First place at the Mudgeeraba Show and then followed this up with First place at the Laidley Show. Tanisha competed against a total of 17 other students (11 at Mudgeeraba and 6 at Laidley).       Ellen Hepburn (Year 7) has been successful in making the Regional Tennis and Soccer teams to compete at the State titles during term 3. Over a period of 16 days she will compete at Tennis Tournament at Tingalpa and the Soccer Carnival in Cairns, while in between, be part of the Calvary Fustal team to compete at the South East Qld Champion of Champions.

      On Friday 11 June, both the Calvary Senior Boys A Soccer Team and the Calvary Junior Girls Netball A team won their Grand finals in the Logan competition. This makes Calvary Champions in both these sports for 2010. Certainly a fantastic achievement as over 20 schools competed in the competitions.
