Lions Youth of the Year Competition

Chauntelle Price, College Captain for 2012 was selected as the school representative in the National Lions Youth of the Year Competition. This competition aims to give young people the opportunity to network as they prepare themselves to enter the workforce.

Run annually by Lions International, contestants initially undergo an interview with three judges from the local community. Thereafter in a public forum  they  respond to two questions in which they must speak for two minutes.  Finally they must present a prepared speech of five minutes in length.

Chauntelle initially participated in a competition organised locally by the Lions Club of Twin Rivers. Here she  defeated three other students to go on to the Zone finals held on Saturday, 3 March. At the Zone finals Chauntelle was selected to progress and will compete in the District finals, on Saturday,10 March. With a speech addressing the topic of Positive Thinking - The Key To Success, we know that Chauntelle will continue to achieve at a high level!
