There is always something special about meeting the author of books that you have enjoyed reading and the students always look forward to such an event. On Tuesday 6 March, during the week of Book Fair we were not disappointed. Christian writer Andrew McDonough, the author of the Lost Sheep series of Bible stories visited Calvary. He was highly entertaining and informative and captivated his audiences of lower and middle school students on both campuses. He shared a selection of his amusing books, talked about the process of his writing, from idea through to the printed word and explained the Christian message in his engaging illustrated books. His enthusiasm was contagious and the feedback from the students was very positive. Books written by Andrew McDonough were on sale both on the day of the author visit, for personal signing, and for the rest of the Book Fair. His books, are available for loan from our junior libraries. |
