Public Speaking Celebrations

Date Added: 31/10/2011

For the second year in a row Zoe Thompson (SWD) placed first in her age division at the AB Paterson Public Speaking Competition, delivering a fascinating speech on the topic ‘Not many people know this’.  She chose to speak about the dairy industry focussing on cruelty to cows, and how environmentally unfriendly this industry is.

In the highly competitive senior divisions, Chauntelle Price also placed first in the Year Eleven Final. Chauntelle is one of the foundation members of the Public Speaking team, competing for the first time when she was in year seven. Her speech was on the topic ‘Walking a Fine Line’ and she focussed on Chocolate in Australia looking at how most major brands use beans picked by slaves.

We are extremely proud of our students and congratulate Chauntelle, Zoe and all those who competed on their fantastic efforts.
