Calvary Students on the ABC Airwaves

Date Added: 09/11/2010

Four Calvary’s students interviewed PM, Wyatt Roy on ABC Students Press Call, on the Madonna King’s program on Thursday, 4 November 2010.

Mr Wyatt Roy won the seat of Longman for the LNP in the last election, to become Australia’s youngest MP. Mr Wyatt delivered his maiden speech to parliament last week and our students used this speech as part of their research for the tough questions they asked the MP during the interview.

Madonna King asked the students a little about Calvary and what the student’s favourite subjects were. Each student also had the opportunity to ask the MP three questions about his life as a politician, what was important to him in life and what he would have done, had he not gone into politics.

Snr student Jordan English asked the MP a tough question about what the Government will do in future with regard to an aging population and Super. The MP had to really think hard to answer this question.

I was both amazed and proud at the way our students handled themselves before and during the interview. Well done everyone!
