Calvary Primary Girls Futsal Stars

Date Added: 18/07/2013

Our Primary Girls futsal team competed at the South Queensland Championships and after making it to the finals, have qualified for the Australasian Championship held later this year.

The girls finished 4th after the regular rounds which placed them against the undefeated Kimberly Park in the semi-final. Playing to their potential, Calvary won 4-2 and really showed what they were capable of. In the final against Our Lady of the Rosary, the girls found themselves 2-0 down with 3mins remaining. Abby Baker scored two goals in the final minutes to force a golden goal playoff. Calvary had two strikes at goals, both hitting the crossbar. Unfortunately Our Lady of the Rosary scored 30 seconds later. It was a fantastic game to watch and the girls should be ecstatic with their achievements.

They have now qualified for the Australasian championship held later in the year. Thanks to Brent Morton and Year Eleven student Sarah Paech for their continue support in training and preparing the team for these Championships. We wish these girls all the best for Australasians.
